On January 9th, Professor Paul Ross of the University of Cork, Ireland, a member of the Royal Irish Academy of Sciences and ICPG, was awarded the Jiangsu Friendship Award in 2019 and was invited to Nanjing to receive the award. Mr. Ma Qiulin, Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province, presented the certificate to Professor Paul Ross.
The Jiangsu Friendship Award was established by Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government in 1997, in order to commend the foreign experts who have made remarkable contributions to the economic and social development of the province, and to promote cooperation and exchanges in economy, science & technology, culture and education with foreign countries. It is the highest prize that Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government established for foreign experts.
Since 2012, Professor Paul Ross has worked extensively with the team of Professor Chen Wei at Jiangnan University and served as the group leader of ICPG since 2017. He assisted Jiangnan University in organizing international conferences, co-directing students, and actively participating in the "Belt and Road" education and academic program. Professor Paul Ross has played an important role in improving the international influence of ICPG and provide service to the local economy.
